DATABEYOND approved for China's National Key R&D Program

Recently, DATABEYOND has been approved for the National Key R&D Program of the Ministry of Science and Technology of China - "Precise Monitoring and Control Cleaning Technology for Plastic Waste Marine Leakage (2024YFC3906500)" project.The project is led by the National Marine Environment Monitoring Center and jointly applied by 10 advantageous units including Tsinghua University, Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics, Nanjing University, and DATABEYOND. Its aim is to promote precise monitoring and efficient cleaning of marine plastic waste, and provide important technical support for marine ecological protection.

 

The project aims to address issues such as unclear pathways for plastic waste entering the sea, low on-site monitoring accuracy, and difficulties in coordinating land and sea control. The main research focuses on the spatial positioning of plastic waste from land-based sources and simulation technology for water environment leakage processes, as well as automatic sampling of multi-scale plastic waste and intelligent monitoring technology for sea discharge flux;

 Developing multi-source remote sensing precise identification technology for marine leaked plastic waste, efficient salvage and intelligent sorting technology for marine leaked plastic waste, forming a closed-loop system for land sea coordinated precise monitoring and prevention and cleaning of marine leaked plastic waste, and achieving effective prevention and control of land-based plastic waste entering the sea through application verification.

 The project results will provide important technical support for the construction and normalized supervision of the beautiful bay.

 

The successful approval of this project is an important practice for DATABEYOND to implement ecological and environmental technology reform, and a successful example of promoting the deep integration of scientific research and business. It is of great significance for promoting the comprehensive improvement of DATABEYOND's research and development innovation level.
